We were getting some snaps for Ms. Sherry of the March of Dimes, had to get one like the shirt he has on, turned out way cute with Dustin's size 14's.

Zeke has started to crawl, he is moving little by little, but it is crawling. It is like an army crawl where he just pulls his body across the floor, and he really has to want something to do it. It is really cute! It is amazing to me how he learns to adapt and use his nub to crawl and hold things, God is so awesome. There just aren't words to describe it!

New Stuff!

He is really starting to pull up on everything he can get his hands on. Mrs. Ashley isn't a big fan of him pulling up before he crawls, but he is so strong willed and knows what he wants. Either way, if you know me, I am still working on the crawling business. He is also putting everything under his arm. He is like a squirrel gathering nuts for winter, he acts like we are going to take his toys if he can't hold on to them all, it is so cute!

Easter Sunday!

We woke up and found Veggie Tales DVD's and a bunny that the Easter Bunny had left. We got ready and went to church to have our pics made and then we had to come back home for a nap before church time. After church, we went to Gran's to eat lunch and then home for a nap. It was a very enjoyable day for all of us!

8 months old!

Another month has passed, and he is still growing so fast. This is the first month we haven't had a doctor's appointment, so I don't know his weight or height. However, I do believe he has stopped gaining weight and started getting taller. He has to grow into those feet eventually. He is changing more and more each day, starting to look more like a big boy. Dustin and I both believe he has said his first word, but since he thinks it was dada and i think it was momma, we are just going to keep saying he hasn't said it yet and wait for him to say one of them again, LOL. He is still rolling around and spinning on his tummy to get where he wants to go, but he has a new trick. He turns around to grab whatever he can and pulls up! He expects you to know that is what he wants, he has such a little personality these days. He loves all the baby foods we have tried so far, he really loves anything with bananas in it, and doesn't prefer peas or green beans. I think the stage two foods must be more textured than the stage ones, because he really liked the greens then. He has started trying a sippy cup and loves water, he really loves to drink it out of our straw! He is finally sleeping through the night again, which is wonderful. He goes to bed around 9 and wakes up around 6! He learns more and more everyday, it really amazes me. Everyone kept telling us that he would learn to use his nub just like his hand. I always believed them, but thought it would take more work to get him to use it. He picks up things, holds them for several seconds, props, tries to move, and does all sorts of things with it. It is really truly a wonderful thing to watch. He amazes me daily. After 8 months, I still can't believe our miracle is here. Praise the Lord!

Grandparents that can't wait for Easter!

To say Zeke is spoiled would be an understatement, I would have to say completely rotten. He can't really talk or walk and he already has all of his grandparents wrapped around his finger! On Sunday, Papaw and Meme brought over his Easter basket. It was so cute and loaded to the brim. His Meme obviously worked hard on it! Then on Wednesday, my Mom brought over his Easter present (a singing hopping bunny) that he has already been playing with for a month at her house. He does not know what to think about the bunny, it is hilarious. He just sits and stares and talks to it. He really thinks it should never quit singing, but then again he could listen to music all day long!

Fun in the Sun

On Friday we headed to the lake, earlier this week than last, lol. When we got there we fed Zeke and relaxed. We washed our bedding and Zeke loved it, he loves being under the covers and pillows. One of his favorites is playing peek a boo these days.

On Saturday, we headed out on the lake. We drove over to the Narrows and ended up buying a pontoon. At first, Zeke didn't know what to think about his life jacket, but shortly after the boat started moving it had the same affect the car usually does, a deep sleep! He liked both boats, but since it was cold, the ski boat was more enjoyable!

After we got back in, we headed to town for some supper and then came home and played outside and visited with Clay and Kathy (our neighbors). We enjoyed being outside in the sunshine until dark. By Sunday morning, we decided we coulndn't stay away from church any longer. We have been visiting a church at the lake, but it just isn't the same. We were both so happy to be back at church and home to nap on Sunday afternoon. We thought we would find a church up there for Sunday mornings, but not so sure if it will be the same!

Almost the weekend again.....

Another week has passed, time just flies these days, does it ever slow down? On Monday, we went to the dr. and to therapy because on Thursday I have PT conferences. At the dr., we found out that Zeke had an entero virus and was at the end of his virus, I tried to wait it out. He hadn't been eating and I was getting worried he wasn't eating enough. The doc said with all that slobber there is no way he is dehydrated, silly me. On Tuesday, we visited with Gran, Chan, Em, and Dad after school and then went for a walk with Mom. On Wednesday, we had Zeke and Caden's pics made. Zeke had his made with the bunny. He kept biting the bunny's ears and when Perry picked it up it jumped from fear and ended up scratching Zeke. That was pretty much the end of the pics for Zeke, but we did get a few good ones of the boys after that. Today, i had PT conferences and didnt get to see much of my boy, but his Daddy had him fed, bathed, and ready for bed when I got home so that i could spend my time playing and that we did. He was extra excited when I got home today, he wasn't so sure about all the changes!

Spring Break is Over!

Our spring break was over as quickly as it began. We spent the whole week playing and enjoying our days. On Thursday, we spent time with some of my Gran's sisters and all my aunts and cousins. We went to US Pizza to eat and visited. On Friday, we spent the day with my mom who had been out of town all week on the beach. Friday at around midnight, after the storms, we loaded up and headed to the lake. We enjoyed a weekend in doing nothing at all, my favorite kind.

Half Over

Well, unfortunately, spring break is half over. I can't believe how time flies when I am spending time with my boy. I absolutely adore being at home with him and know I could do it full time, never thought I would say that! This week has brought lots of fun and we have actually done very little. His favorite way to move around is to either spin on his belly or roll over and over. He loves to sit up and can get to his belly from there, but can't quite sit up on his own yet (although it isn't because he isn't trying). He loves to play in his new exersaucer, he has had one to play in at Gran's but he just got one from Tessa a few days ago. He is doing very well at Gran's house. He takes a couple of 2 hour naps a day in his beloved swing and eats well for her. He has moved up to the stage 2 foods as the 1's just wouldn't fill him up anymore. He is getting to the point that if he doesn't want to eat you just can't make him. He has been sick a couple of days and refused to eat his baby food! He turns his head until its almost backwards to keep from eating. He still has not figured out his sippy cup either, he just bites it! He wants to have everything we do. The funny thing is you don't realize what you spend the most time with until you have a small child. His two favorites are the cell phone and remote (I think something may be wrong with this). It can sure be a quick way to make you re evaluate how you spend your time. Our plan this week was to spend everyday in the stroller or on the bike, but the weather kept those plans at bay. We did go on a bike ride today with Chan, Caden, Nick, Tanya, and Cody. It was a lot of fun and then we grilled out, yummy! Tomorrow, we are going to therapy and out to eat with the fam and the weekend is the lake. We are enjoying every minute of parent hood. His smiles are the greatest blessings of our lives. We, along with what seems like thousands of others, begged and pleaded to God for his life and what a life it is. Now I just pray that I can give him the foundation he needs to do the work the Lord has in store for him! Have a good rest of the week, I know we will!

Zeke even got to drive!

Today, we went for a visit to John Deere and out to lunch with Papaw. When we got there Papaw took us for a ride, showed Zeke off to his buddies, and then we were off to eat. Afterwards, I realized Zeke had a fever of 102.5. He has been fussy and clingy, so I KNOW he feels bad. We are probably headed to the dr. in the morning!

Weekend at the Lake

After Emma's party, we headed to the lake to do some work. Zeke and I played, washed clothes, and cooked while Dustin and Uncle Trav worked in the yard on Saturday and Sunday morning. We all really enjoyed a little get away and will probably head back this weekend for some relaxation!

Emma's Party

Happy Birthday to Emma~Chuck E Cheese was a great party! Zeke thought Chuck E was great, he could not take his eyes off him. He really enjoyed playing with his Nanee today. If you know me at all, you know I am really bad about bringing presents unwrapped. So of course on Sat morning Em's present was not wrapped. We had to stop at Dollar tree to get a bag, or so I thought. They didn't have any bags big enough, so Abbi pointed out some pretty paper. We picked up the paper, and I thought we need some tape. We got some, paid and were out the door. So I get to the car, put the kids in their seats and begin to wrap the present in the car while standing outside in the sprinkles. I put the paper on and Abbi looks at me and says Jill where are your scissors? Question of the day! I told her we didn't need any we could just gently tear the paper, that I did, tear a big whole in the only piece of paper I had just bought! I really didn't want to get back out, so Abbi taped up the present and we hid that side when we got to the party. Emma never knew!

The last long week

Last week drug on forever. Zeke and I were ready for some time together and it just seemed spring break would never get here. On Monday, he had to go get his last Synagis shot! We are so happy no more monthly injections!!! No more shots until August!!! On Friday, Zeke went to school with me for a couple of hours and visited with lots of people. He loved watching the elementary kids in the hall, little does he know it won't be long until he will dread going to school. He got to meet Brette and Braylee and they were both fascinated by his arm. Marlene explained it to Brette perfectly, telling her that God knew he would do just fine the way he was. Children are so wonderful and so honest, wouldn't it be wonderful if all our minds could be like theirs!

Abbi came to visit

On Sunday, Abbi came over, it had been way too long since they had gotten a chance to come over. She was ready to feed him again, boy did things get messy!

Papaw and Meme come to visit.....

Last Saturday (the 14th), we woke up and played and watched cartoons and then Papaw and Meme came over around lunch time to play some more....what a treat!

Seven Months Old

He rolled from the boppy all the way across the floor, who needs crawling when you can roll like that!
He wanted more and I couldn't get it fast enough so he picked up the bowl and starting feeding himself, guess he spends too much time around Chance, lol!

My first bike ride was fun!

I can't believe it.....I say that once a month....another month has passed. Zeke has really dont alot this month, he is sitting up, rolling over and over, playing and laughing at everything, and even trying to feed himself a little. It is hard to believe that he is almost five times his birth weight! He is such a big boy now. Tonight, dustin was making noises and he was imitating them, it was too funny. I tried to get a video, but it was a thought that came too late. We went for our first bike ride yesterday, it was such a beautiful day. Zeke's helmet is toooo funny!

Dr. Sawyer

On Thursday, we made a trip to memphis to see Dr. Sawyer, the orthopedic dr, for Zeke's six month check up. We went in for xrays first, Zeke just screamed, he hated them. Luckily his Daddy was brave enough to take him in there. I thought I wouldn't be able to hear him down the hall, boy was I wrong. After the xrays were finally over, they took us in the room to wait. When the doc came in he asked how Zeke was doing and I quickly stated that I had a lot of questions. He wanted to hear them. My first question was about his legs still being rotated outward. He had had a chance to see the xrays and proceeded to explain to us that he had vertical talus. This means that on the inside of his foot two of the bones are misaligned, they should point towards each other. In his right foot, the bone in his ankle is 10 degrees from where it should be and in the left foot it is 30 degrees from where it should be. He went on to explain that it isn't complete vertical talus and would either get better or worse by nine months. If it doesn't get better by nine months, he will schedule surgery for 12 months. After surgery, he will have a pin and some wire in his feet for several weeks and a series of casts for 12 weeks. He may have a long road ahead of him, but we know God in in control. He will provide a way no matter what! Keep this need in your prayers!

Snow Day

Sunday, March 1st 2009~Last night, Zeke's first REAL snow came, the parking lot at church was too slick so church was cancelled and we spent all day snuggling and keeping warm.

Sitting Up

February 28, 2009~Zeke is really loving sitting up, he started sitting up for only a few seconds at a time around his six month birthday and within two weeks time, he was sitting all alone with no trouble for as long as you leave him in the floor. I took a couple of pics this afternoon. I have already mentioned his love for anything musical.....especially Penny's piano playing at church........so here he is with his drums........
