My Birthday Dinner at El Puente

On Monday, we went to eat with Mom, Granny, and Trav for my birthday since I was gone on Saturday. I love when the guys sing so of course I convinced Dustin to let them sing to me, it was great. Zeke, as usual, loved the music and just stared at them.

My 25th birthday was by far the best I have ever had. It would have been the best birthday even if we hadn't celebrated because Zeke makes everything better! Dustin took Zeke and I to Branson for the weekend, luckily Saturday was actually my birthday, that doesn't happen often. We started out the day by eating breakfast on the ninth floor of our hotel, with a great view of the Ozarks. Zeke loved standing in the window and looking out. Then we began our shopping quest. We spent the entire morning and afternoon shopping at the outlet malls and at the landing. We went to Bass Pro and got Zeke a life jacket and spent way too much but it was all on Zeke so it was worth it. Mid afternoon, we decided to stop and eat at Shorty Small's at the landing overlooking the lake, the food, waitress and view were all amazing. Zeke was so good all day, especially at the restaurant. He just laughed and cooed at all the people as they walked by. We went back to the hotel to rest and then off to Pierce Arrow. Zeke was mesmerized by the singing and lights. He didn't make a peep during the two hour show. We sat next to a couple that fell in love with Zeke. About half way through the show we realized that the man, Lando, and Zeke shared something, they were both missing their left hand. Lando gave us some comforting info about how he would learn to deal with it. We never doubt it will all work out, because we know God is in control, but it is so amazing when he sends angels our way to show us what he tells us daily. God moves in your life when you least expect it, we exchanged email addresses and will keep in contact with this dear couple. On Sunday, we came home and went to visit with the Slagleys, our prayers are still with you, we love you all. I have included some pics, but it was so hard to pick so there are alot.

Baby Food

Zeke started eating baby food on his six month birthday. So far he loves green beans and pears, thinks apple sauce and sweet potatoes are ok, and really doesn't care for squash. We are going to eat some peas tonight, wish us luck, I hate peas. He is sitting up for several minutes at a time and scooting a little bit, but not really going anywhere yet. He is very active and is so interested in everything we eat and especially what we are drinking. We haven't given him any table food yet, and don't plan to for a while. Dustin had food allergies, so we are taking precautions. He may still get them but it won't be because we didn't follow dr's orders to wait. Now a message from Zeke............

Valentine's Day

On Valentine's Day, we went to Jonesboro to eat at Colton's, to Petco (Zeke loved the birds) and to get a movie. Zeke went along as usual, guess we will get around to an alone date eventually. He is just so entertaining! Zeke wore his Papaw's coat out on Valentine's. It (sorry to give you up Dad) is nearly 50 years old and we are so glad it has been kept up with over the years! I wore it and my dolls did too!

I am 6 months old....

Today our big boy is six months old, I can not believe it. It is hard to believe that it has been so long...but then again it seems like forever ago that I was in that hospital awaiting his arrival. I always thought those days would be so fresh in my mind, but they were so easy to forget, he is so worth every minute of it. I just have to stop and praise God. Zeke is NOTHING shy of a miracle, God intended for this little boy to be here and he made it happen. Six months later, he is thriving just like any other little boy his age and that includes not adjusting for prematurity. We know that there will be other hurdles to overcome with our little man, but we also know God is not through walking with us. He intends to stay right by our side and carry all of us if needed. He is a mighty mighty God, and he continues to prove it to me daily. We know that God has big big plans for Zeke, I just hope Zeke learns to listen better than I have ( I am getting better at that)! Without electricity, Zeke didn't know what to do! He didn't like the total darkness at all. After a few nights we had a generator and he really liked that better. Our electricity was out for 8 days because our meter base fell off our house the first day. We had to wait for an electrician to come out and get that fixed and then get our electric turned back on! We enjoyed camping in the living room for a few nights.
